Redwood Valley County Water District Rebuild and Resiliency Project First Community Meeting – Project Overview

A Pubic Meeting hosted by Congressman Huffman, Senator McGuire, Assemblyman Wood and the County of Mendocino regarding the Redwood Valley County Water District Improvement Project will be held on October 11, 2018 at 6:30pm at the Eagle Peak Middle School in Redwood Valley, California. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an update on rebuilding fire damaged infrastructure of the Redwood Valley County Water District. The County’s Project Manager, Howard Dashiell, will provide an overview and scope of the project. Including why it is happening and how many parcels are impacted, project timeline, and project budget. In addition, the County Building Official will also provide an overview on the rebuilding and permitting process as it relates to the Redwood Valley Water District Improvement Project, with specific information on re-entry of homes even through the largest water improvement project hasn’t been completed. County staff will be on hand to answer any questions related to the proposed infrastructure reconstruction project.


Project Details

The project entails the reconstruction of the domestic water delivery systems. The expected outcome is the replacement of approximately 15,026 feet of existing water main lines, installation of approximately 5,631 feet of new water main where necessary, and replacement of up to 304 water service lateral connections; existing infrastructure within the system was installed to unknown code standards, using unknown materials, and is of unknown age.


The project is located in Redwood Valley California; in Mendocino County with connections from private roads to West and Tomki Roads—Madrone Lane CR 234A, minor projects on Fisher Lake CR 2371, CR 237J; Mountain View Lane, CR 237G, Mohawk Trail and CR 22237F, Inez Way.
